Learning is
building the path.
Between knowing where you are and knowing where you want to be, there is work to do. That work is learning.
From understanding to solving.
A learner has a starting point: the knowledge they have and the ideas they can use. An exam sets a goal. Between the two lies a gap in knowledge, reasoning or the ability to apply both. We believe studying means identifying that gap and building a path across it.
Seeing a worked answer is only one part of that process. Progress comes from understanding what the problem asks, which ideas are needed and why each step follows. The aim is to construct a solution independently when the next problem looks different.
We draw on Japanese approaches to exam preparation, connecting strong foundations in subjects such as mathematics and physics with explicit problem-solving methods. NOTESMEDIA develops educational systems and teaches ways to study, reason and approach exams with a clear strategy.

AI in the system.
You in the thinking.
We build AI into structured educational systems. Learners should be able to use a coherent learning experience without first learning how to prompt an AI tool. Our design priorities are clear steps, purposeful practice and room to concentrate on the reasoning.
- 01
Locate the gap
Clarify the target and what the learner can currently do. Identify the missing knowledge, connections or reasoning that stand between the two.
- 02
Understand the route
Break a problem down. Establish what needs to be found, which ideas apply and why each step is justified. Make the route to the answer something the learner can explain.
- 03
Build a solution
Give the learner space to choose an approach and work through it. Use explanations and targeted practice to address gaps while keeping the thinking in the learner’s hands.
- 04
Try a new problem
Try a different problem and see whether the same reasoning can be used independently. Use what this reveals to decide what to revisit and how to plan the next stage of preparation.
A plausible route still needs to be examined.
AI can produce a convincing sequence of steps without establishing whether a learner understands them or whether they are sound. We place importance on checking explanations and making the reasoning explicit. AI should support that educational process, while the learner develops the ability to judge and solve.
More capable learners. More independent thinkers.
As AI becomes part of everyday life, education needs to help people work with it thoughtfully. We want to carry the foundations and problem-solving methods of Japanese exam education into learning systems for this new context. Success means developing people who can recognise what they need to learn, work out an approach and keep moving towards their goals.
